An Addition Built With Love And Family Support: For Tita Belita, With Ann & Marty

Ann and Marty envisioned an 18×18 suite extending from their 1,900 sq ft Union City home—something special for Ann’s mom, Tita Belita. They’re returning to their family home to be near her, and before anything else, their priority was creating a safe, comfortable, low-maintenance space for her years ahead. From design to permits through construction, Actualize was honored to bring that vision to life.

This project will always stay close to our hearts. It wasn’t just about the build—it was about the people. With Tita Belita, a retired chemical engineer, we felt an instant connection. Her sharp wit, nurturing spirit, and brilliant mind made every moment memorable.

Here’s some progress photos during the build starting from the demolition of the pergola where the addition is to be built.

Tita selected low-maintenance quartz shower walls with two niches, elegant cabinetry with a vanity top, and tested toilet heights for comfort. Ann chose durable Hansgrohe trims. Grab bars were installed for safety, and the bathroom features an 18-inch deep, 73-inch custom dual-sink vanity with a left-side drawer for drying space. Plumbing rough-ins were planned for future needs.

This addition wasn’t flashy—it was personal.

From the spacious closet to sunlight placement and feng shui touches-

every choice reflected Tita’s routines and preferences.

Beyond the build, Tita cared for our team as if we were family—preparing snacks, lunch, and food to take home. Her warmth extended to every crew member and trade partner.

When the project wrapped, we asked if she was excited for Ann and Marty’s move. Her giggle said it all—and she was especially delighted that Marty would be spending the most time in the kitchen!

Actualize is grateful not just to have built this space, but to have built lasting relationships—reminding us the heart of any home is the people who fill it.
