The moodboard shown here was the starting point — a thoughtful collection of materials we felt sure about from day one. It set the tone for the entire project: clean geometry, soft finishes, and a layout that supports the quiet rhythm of daily life.
Rather than reinvent the space, the goal was to honor the existing footprint and make every inch work harder — with more clarity, more calm, and more purpose.
The kitchen, as it stood, told a different story. Tight walkways. A too-large island that made movement awkward. Dated IKEA cabinets that felt too bulky for the space. And no pantry. It was a layout that turned everyday cooking into a constant compromise.
So we started with the flow. We reorganized the work triangle — repositioning the fridge, stove, and sink for smoother, more intuitive movement.
With the living room just steps away, we focused on creating a more versatile layout. The redesign also made room for practical upgrades: a built-in wine cooler, a microwave with integrated ventilation to free up counter space, a pull-out spice rack conveniently located to the right of the stove, and a concealed trash bin placed to the left of the sink—how convenient is that?  All these features are seamlessly built into the cabinetry for a streamlined, functional kitchen. Electrical outlets were thoughtfully repositioned as well.
The sink sits in the corner beneath a window to take advantage of natural light—perfect for adding a plant (and easy to water, too). The extended overhang now serves as both a casual dining spot and a laptop-friendly workspace—ideal for everyday living. A new L-shaped island now anchors the kitchen, offering generous space to prep, gather, or simply enjoy a quiet coffee moment.
In the bathroom, the footprint was even tighter.
With no room to expand, we leaned into built-in solutions that make the most of every inch. The vanity mirror now serves double duty as a medicine cabinet, adding hidden storage without sacrificing style. A recessed niche beside the toilet keeps essentials accessible, while tall vertical cabinetry offers storage without adding visual weight. Stacked vertical picket tiles and a carved-out tub-side niche help the space feel more open and considered. Obscure-glass windows invite natural light while preserving privacy and adding a modern touch.
Throughout the home, the floors were leveled to prepare for new flooring and baseboards. Updated door and window trims, fresh paint, and all-new electrical outlets, switches, and plates bring a soft, grounding palette that ties each room together and complements the home’s clean, modern look.
This wasn’t a complete gut renovation but a thoughtful transformation that respected the original layout while subtly improving its functionality for daily life. The goal was to make everyday living easier, more beautiful, and truly reflective of how the space is lived in—all within just six weeks.
